Annoying little air bubbles

Do you want to know when of the hardest things
you have to do with clay before you get started?
It's called wedging.
Wedging is removing air bubbles from the piece of
clay that you are going to be working with. You do
this by slapping the clay down on a wedging board,
putting your hands on the clay firmly, and rocking
back and forth,  slowly rolling the clay into a mound.
Now this takes time and a lot of energy. Why do this?
Well the reason that you do this is because if there
are any air bubbles left, two things will happen. If you
are working on the pottery wheel, it will make popping
sound and will make the clay harder to mold into
what you want it to be. The second and more
devastating result is that when your piece
is being put in the kiln( like a very hot
oven used to glaze and finish your
piece) the air bubble will cause
your piece to crack or even explode.

Is there a reason that I told you this? Well
besides being interesting information,
this is a lot like the Christian walk. The annoying
air bubbles in the clay are like sin that are in our lives.
If we take the time and do the hard work to remove
the sin( or air bubbles) then you can just go on with your
Christian walk. Even though there are often consequences
that come with sin( like cracks in your clay) it is better
then having a ruined Christian walk( or ruined piece of clay).

Do you have sin that you are hiding in your heart? Tell it to God.
And maybe if you get the courage, tell it to someone you trust
who can help you deal with the consequences of sin in your life.
